Revolution Vinyl Set to Open June 1st

revolutionThe Tie-Dye Theater will be making a change in the next month with the opening of Revolution Vinyl in the spot.

The upcoming record store has been set back due to renovations, but plans to open on June 1st. Revolution Vinyl Owner Amy Moser says she wants to keep the historic feel of the store.

Moser tells WGIL that the interior is being kept mostly the same but some renovations to the walls pushed back the date.

“The interior was fine the way it was, but the [building] owner, Karina, really wanted to do some cosmetic things to the interior that she wouldn’t have to do in the upcoming years, such as exposing a brick wall,” says Moser. “It was plaster and concrete and we repaired the brick wall behind it, and some trim work, some dry wall and painting.”

Moser says the store may open a bit sooner, but will definitely be open by June 1st.

The shop will feature mostly records, but will carry 8-tracks and CDs as well. Moser says she gets a majority of her inventory from collectors who called and offered her what they have.

The grand opening events are still undetermined, but Moser says she might plan something to coincide with Railroad Days for the historic aspect.
