Howard, Willa P.

Howard, WillaWilla P. Howard, 62, of Galesburg, died at 9:14 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2015 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born July 16, 1952 in Galesburg, the daughter of Fred and Mary J. (Binge) Myler. She married Dayle Learned Sr. in 1972. She later married Duane Howard in 1981.

She is survived by a son, Dayle (and Joyce) Learned Jr. of North Henderson; a daughter, Michelle (and Joe Roller) Howard of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Christie Learned, Avery Roller, Trevor Roller, and Hunter Roller; three sisters, Sharon Briggs, Cheryl Clark, and Betty (and Dave) Logsdon, all of Galesburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Karon S. Myler.

Willa had worked at Knox College in the dish room, in the salad department of HyVee, was a cashier at Big Lots, and a shift manager at Taco Bell.

She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1971 and was a lifelong Galesburg resident.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jim Ecklund officiating.
