Mueller, ConradMr. Conrad S. Mueller, 77, of Macomb, Illinois died at 1:55 p.m. Sunday May 10, 2015 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois.

He was born on June 9, 1937 in Des Plaines, Illinois to Conrad S. and Blanche Stewart Mueller. He married Judith A. Pendry on March 18, 1967 in Knoxville, Illinois. She preceded him in death on January 7, 2013.

Conrad is survived by a son, James (and Christina) Mueller of Macomb; a daughter, Jennifer (and Tom) Hitt of Macomb; three grandchildren, Hannah Feld, Skylar Mueller, and Lauren Mueller; brother-in-law, John Pedigo of Galesburg; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Kymm Pendry of Galesburg; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Terry and Mary Pendry of Galesburg; step father-in-law, Fred Norris of Galesburg; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Mueller; and a sister-in-law, Karen Pedigo.

The family moved to Galesburg in 1960 and Conrad and his father opened their first McDonald’s on Henderson Street. He was an owner of McDonald’s Restaurants in Galesburg, Sterling, Macomb, and Kewanee, retiring May 31, 2003 after 43 years in business. He was a 1957 graduate of the DesPlaines (IL) High School.

Conrad loved spending time with his grandchildren and taking them Christmas shopping. He and his grandchildren lovingly referred to each other as “jerk” and celebrated “Jerk Day” each June 21st. He loved traveling with his family and grandchildren to Marco Island, Florida, Mackinac Island, Michigan, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday May 15, 2015 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Pastor Clayton Hentzel officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
