Services Set For Slain Illinois College Student

TROY, Ill. (AP) — A Southern Illinois University student who police say was killed while trying to sell his sports car advertised on Craigslist will be laid to rest in southwestern Illinois.

Services for 19-year-old Taylor Clark of St. Jacob, Illinois, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Jerome Church in Troy.

Authorities say Clark went missing May 4 after being contacted about his 2007 Nissan 350ZX he was trying to sell on an online marketplace. His car and body were found the next day at a Hazelwood, Missouri, truck driver training center where 24-year-old Michael Gordon worked.

Gordon is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in Clark’s death.

Online court records don’t show whether Gordon has an attorney.

Clark was a sophomore engineering student at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.
