Kistler ArlanArlan “Bit” Wayne Kistler, 63, of Victoria, Illinois passed at 6:26 P.M. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at his home.

Arlan was born May 24, 1951 in Aledo, to Lytle James & Janet Irene Thomas-Kistler of Buffalo Prairie.  The family of five moved to Victoria in 1956.  Arlan graduated from ROVA High School in 1969.  He served in the U.S. Army Infantry in combat during the Vietnam War from January 1971 to January 1973.    After graduating from high school, Arlan worked for Butler Manufacturing for 36 years until they closed in 2005.  Arlan married Geraldine L. Gibson-VonBehren on August 10, 1991.

Arlan enjoyed his El Caminos, was a lifelong Chicago Bears fan, member of the American Legion and United Steelworkers and enjoyed spending time with his Butler friends and his dog Bandit.

He is survived by his wife, Geri, his father Lytle of Brownsville, Texas, two sons Todd (Shirley) Kistler of Altona, Darin (Donna) of La Fayette, two grandchildren Chelsea Kistler & Drew Kistler, two step-children Tina (Ross) Johnson of Rock Island, Russell (Amy) Trulson of Oquawka, four step-grandchildren Jessica Johnson of Milan, Justin (Bobbi) Johnson of Rock Island, Samantha McCraw & Alexandria McCraw both of Oquawka, five step-great grandchildren Rhiley, Lydia & Allister Johnson, Azarianna McCraw & Yevette McCraw.  He is also survived by his two brothers, Dennis (Karen) Kistler of Galesburg and Ryan Lee (Bethe) Kistler of Dallas, Texas.

Arlan was preceded in death by his loving mother, Janet.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Homes in Oneida, Illinois,  with visitation prior, starting at 9:00 A.M.  Interment will be in the Victoria Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, American Legion or Veterans Affairs.  On line condolences and sympathy cards may be sent through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com
