Kankakee Paint Roller Company Expanding, To Add 40 New Jobs

KANKAKEE, Ill. (AP) — A Kankakee company that makes painting tools is expanding its facility and adding jobs.

The (Kankakee) Daily Journal reports that J.R. Edwards Brush and Roller Inc. in June will finish a 29,000-square-foot expansion that will lead to hiring another 40 workers. The rollers produced at the factories are sold at many major retailers. The company produces as many as 1.4 million roller pads a month.

This is the third expansion at the company since 2004 when it was purchased by Linzer Products Corp. It’s gone from 25,000-square-feet to 108,000 square feet. There also are two off-site warehouses.
