Brinton, Jim “Hood” C.

Briton, JamesJim C. “Hood” Brinton, 61 of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 near Gerlaw, IL.

He was born June 14, 1953 in Monmouth, IL the son of Albert W. and Rita (St. Ledger) Brinton.  He was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1971.

Jim married Donna Icenogle in Monmouth on August 31 1974 and she survives.

Jim worked at Rock Ten in Galesburg in maintenance and as a machine operator for 43 years.

He enjoyed his motorcycle, loved being outdoors, enjoyed birds of all kinds and love to joke around.  He truly loved being with family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Monmouth; daughters, Michelle (Brad) Bergren of Monmouth and Mindy Clark of Oquawka; his grandchildren, Kenny and Jackson Bergren and Payton Clark; brothers, Tom (Shari) Brinton of Iowa City, IA and Mark (Tammy) Brinton of North Carolina; sister, Sheryl (Bill) Zimmerman of Colona, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his niece and god daughter, Lacy Brinton.

A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Cremation will take place following the gathering.  Memorials may be given to his Brinton Grandchildren Education Fund or the Patriot Guard Riders.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com734-6008
