Drew Peterson Returns To Court In Murder-For-Hire Case

CHESTER, Ill. (AP) — The former suburban Chicago police sergeant accused of plotting to kill the prosecutor who won a murder conviction in the death of the man’s third wife is to return to court.

A Randolph County trial judge on Friday will review a request by prosecutors to allow cross-examination of Drew Peterson should he testify in the murder-for-hire case.

The 61-year-old ex-Bolingbrook officer has pleaded not guilty to charges that he solicited a confidential informant to kill Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow. Glasgow prosecuted the 2012 case in which Peterson was sentenced to 38 years in prison for the death in 2004 of Kathleen.

The investigation into Savio’s death was re-opened after the 2007 disappearance of Peterson’s fourth wife.
