Heller, BillHarold W. “Bill” Heller, 82, of Biggsville, passed away at 7:55 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, IA.

 

Bill was born on January 6, 1933 at his family’s home in New Windsor, IL; he is the son of Harold Wayne and Zelda Margaret (Bowman) Heller.  Bill graduated from Knoxville High School in 1951. 

 

He served in the United States Air Force and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and was a flight engineer. 

 

Bill married Lorraine Cox in Knoxville, IL on June 12, 1955. 

 

Bill farmed all of his life.  He also worked as a Pioneer Hi-Bred Sales Representative for 30 years.  He served as a board member and past president for the Biggsville Fire Protection District, Hend Co Hills Country Club, Union Community School Board, Farm Bureau Board, and FS Board.

 

Surviving Bill is his wife Lorraine Heller of Biggsville, IL, one daughter Deb (Roger) Cole of Gladstone, IL, one son Ron (Tami) Heller of Media, IL, grandchildren; Aaron (Rudi) Cole of Janesville, WI, Marissa (Kevin) Gibb of Smithshire, IL, Brad (Molly) Heller of Salt Lake City, UT, Mindy Heller (AJ Liechty) of North Liberty, IA, and Sarah Heller (Brogan Stuart) of Mackinaw, IL.  Also surviving are his great grandchildren; Kylie, Gavin, and Annie Cole, Connor, Cooper, Carter, and Casen Gibb, Maddox and Zola Liechty, two sisters; Joan (Gerry) Lenz of Smithshire, IL, and Marilyn (Aldis) Vanders of Renton, WA, and several nieces and nephews. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons, Jeffrey Cole and Matthew Heller.

     

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2015 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Interment with Military Honors will be in Biggsville Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday, May, 28, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home, where his family will be present from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Memorials can be made to the Great River Hospice House or the Biggsville Fire Department.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
