Daniel R. Knuth, 79, of Galesburg, died at 10:38 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at home.
He was born February 21, 1936 in Roseville, Illinois the son of Marcus and Ruth (Stevens) Knuth. He married Lorena Twidwell on June 6, 1970. She preceded him in death September 3, 2001.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel Knuth Jr. and Dennis Knuth, both of Monmouth, Illinois; a daughter, Julie Burke of Galesburg; two stepsons, Tony Empson of Galesburg and Clayton Andren of Missouri; a stepdaughter, Pam Andren of LaFayette, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three brothers, Marcus (and Charolette) Knuth and James (and Fonda) Knuth, both of Galesburg and Don (and Lucille) Knuth of Mendota, Illinois; and a sister, Sherry (and Robert) Weedman of Wyoming, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Daniel worked for Owen’s Concrete for 28 years, retiring in 1998. He attended Dallas City schools and lived in LaFayette for 33 years before moving to Galesburg in 2002.
Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 10:15 a.m. at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev.
