Love’s Truckstop Plans Presented to Knoxville City Council

loves-travel-stops-country-stores_416x416At last night’s Knoxville City Council Meeting, representative from Love’s Truck Stop and Country Store presented the plans for the site, which will now include a Hampton Inn.

Love’s Real Estate Project Manager Bill Gleason says they plan to wrap around the Hardee’s and utilize the truck parking already in place.

Gleason told the council that they expect to have surveying done within the next few weeks and expect to create several jobs at the site.

“We’ve done our sign survey,” says Gleason. “We hope to have it all done by mid-june. We expect to create 40-60 jobs out there.”

No restaurant franchise for inside the truck stop has been determined yet, but they did announce that the hotel brand will be a Hampton Inn.

Gleason says Loves plans to pave a roughly 300 foot road, which the county would like to have extended to reach the nursing home.

The council talked at length about whether the road would be considered a county road or a city street when Loves applies to be annexed in.

Also at the meeting, there was discussion about increasing the number of liquor licenses available, which they decided to table until the next meeting.
