3 Plead Not Guilty In Connection With Quincy Boy’s Death

QUINCY, Ill. (AP) — Three members of the Crider family have pleaded not guilty to charges in connection with the March 28 fatal shootings of a 12-year-old western Illinois boy.

The Quincy Herald Whig reports that Stefan K. Crider Jr., Stefan K. Crider III and Julia A. Crider entered the pleas during an arraignment Wednesday in Adams County court. They are charged with conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice.

Ray Humphrey Jr. was shot dead March 28. The alleged gunman, Steson L. Crider, is still awaiting extradition from Arizona. He faces a first-degree murder charge in Adams County.

Attorneys for Stefan K. Crider and Julia A. Crider say they plan to file change of venue motions because of pretrial publicity in the case.
