Illinois Student Faces New Charges in ’50 Shades’ Incident

CHICAGO (AP) — A former University of Illinois at Chicago student cleared in a sexual assault case involving re-enactment of parts of “Fifty Shades of Grey” faces new charges involving photos of the incident.

Nineteen-year-old Mohammad Hossain appeared in Cook County court Wednesday on charges of distributing photos of a bound, blindfolded, naked woman without her permission.

Prosecutors say Hossain posted a public Facebook message reading, “I’m finally satisfied … feeling accomplished.” They say he then sent photos privately to several friends. Police obtained the photos via a search warrant.

In March, a judge determined there wasn’t enough evidence in the original case after a hearing during which the alleged victim testified.

Hossain’s attorney says his client has not committed a crime and wants to return to school. The university has suspended him.
