YMCA Associate Director To Serve Final Day in Galesburg

YMCAThe associate executive director of the Knox County YMCA will work his final day today.

Justin Inskeep has served the Galesburg community since 2004, when he took over as head baseball coach at Carl Sandburg College.

In 2005, he made the transition to the Y, and seven years ago he became associate director of the organization.

Inskeep will conclude 10 years with the Y in his last day today. The outgoing associate director will soon begin his new position as executive director of a YMCA in the Memphis, Tennessee area.

Inskeep tells the WGIL Morning News, that he accepted the new position because he felt the family atmosphere was right at the Memphis facility.

“One thing that I noticed most, was that they spoke a lot about and had a lot of questions about my family, and were very family oriented, which is how I am as well,” says Inskeep. “It felt like a fantastic fit and opportunity for my personal and professional career. I think its a good time in our life to make this jump.”

Inskeep says that he won’t be forgetting his time in Knox County. He says “the people of this area have treated him well, and that his time here will be a lasting memory.”
