Chockley_Hat_SMALLTanner Joe Chockley, 20, of Galesburg, Illinois peacefully passed away at 9:30AM Saturday, June 6, 2015, at home. Tanner was born May 21, 1995 in Peoria, Illinois the only son of Bobbi and Greg Chockley. Tanner attended Galesburg Schools.

Tanner is survived by his mother and father, Bobbi and Greg; his sisters, Laryssa Chockley of Peoria, IL and Rylee Chockley at home; his grandparents, Katy and Roger Lovitt of St. Augustine, Illinois and Sharon Chockley of Galesburg and his special friends Betty White and Tami Clewell. Tanner was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joe Chockley of Oneida, IL.

Tanner was special in every way and could make you smile on the worst of days. Tanner loved school and the interaction with all of his classmates, teachers and aides and was an avid fan of SpongeBob. Tanner endured a life, although much too short, filled with many challenges, simple pleasures and more successes than most could ever imagine. The quality of Tanner’s life was upheld by the great care provided to him by many doctors, nurses, therapists and medical personnel. Everyone that met Tanner loved Tanner.

Visitation will be from 1:00PM to 2:00PM Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. A celebration of this young man’s life will follow at 2:00PM Thursday at the Chapel with Don Smith officiating. Burial and graveside service will follow in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials and expressions of sympathy may be directed to the family through the funeral home.
