CHICAGO (AP) — A multimillion dollar reconstruction project of a ramp linking the Stevenson Expressway to Lake Shore Drive is about to make navigating through the area a bit trickier.
In a news release, the Illinois Department of Transportation says the reconstruction of northbound Lake Shore Drive to the outbound Stevenson is set to begin Monday if the weather cooperates.
Crews are scheduled to be setting up work zones for a construction project that will begin later this summer and last until next year.
During the project, the northbound ramp of Lake Shore Drive to the outbound Stevenson will remain at the current single-lane configuration but the width of the lane will be reduced to 11 feet. The ramp may be closed overnight on occasion as well.
