wilson, betty756Betty Lou Wilson, 89, of Galesburg, died at 11:58 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 in the emergency room at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Betty was born July 26, 1925 in Macomb, the daughter of Ralph Clinton and Lillian Isadona (Rogers) Bainter.  She married Edward Phillip Wilson on July 26, 1944 in Rock Island.  Betty is survived by two sons, Edward (Kirsten) Wilson of Kingman, AZ and Michael (Janice) Wilson of Galesburg; one daughter, Cheryl (Bennie) Knox of rural Gilson; 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.  Betty was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ed on June 26, 2013;  2 brothers, Robert and Lawrence Bainter; one granddaughter and one grandson.

Betty graduated from Colchester High School.  She was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and taught catechism for many years.  She was a past president of Birthright.  Betty enjoyed playing bingo and pitch.  But most of all Betty enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  The funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m.  Rev. Msgr. Ernest Pizzamiglio will officiate.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to Knox County Right to Life.  Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
