Galesburg Government Access Channel to Add Programming This Summer

Galesburg-city-signChannel Seven will no longer only hold the Galesburg City Council meetings on their programming.
The channel will now start to broadcast a live stream of video from the top of the Bondi Building on Main Street.

Galesburg Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Steve Brody says this is a great way for visitors to see the city of Galesburg from the click of their mouse. Brody tells WGIL that the stream will be available from several locations, including The City of Galesburg Website, and the Convention and Visitors Bureau Website.

“The plan is to have 24-hour live streaming from the webcam, that not only will be on Channel 7, but we are anticipating that we will have a link on the Chamber of Commerce’s website, the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau website, and potentially the City of Galesburg’s website,” says Brody. “We just want to have greater accessibility for people who want to know about Galesburg.”

Brody says several organizations got together to help fund the project, including the Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce, The Downtown Council and The Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Brody says they anticipate the new programming to start sometime this summer.
