No Reduced Bond in Connection with Quincy Boy’s Death

QUINCY, Ill. (AP) — A western Illinois judge has denied reduced bond for one of three family members charged in connection with the shooting death of a 12-year-old Quincy boy.

The Quincy Herald-Whig reports  Judge Scott Walden denied the request Wednesday from Stefan Crider III. Crider III along with his parents, Stefan K. Crider Jr. and Julia A. Crider, has pleaded not guilty in Adams County to charges of conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice. His parents’ bond reduction requests were denied last week.

Stefan Crider III’s public defender asked the judge to reduce bond from $100,000 to $10,000. But prosecutors argued the bond was appropriate.

Ray Humphrey Jr. was shot dead March 28. The alleged gunman, Steson L. Crider, is still awaiting extradition from Arizona. He faces a first-degree murder charge in Adams County.
