Trial of Fourth Person Accused in 2013 Double Murder Begins

JOLIET, Ill. (AP) — The trial of a fourth suspect in a 2013 Joliet double murder is underway in a Will County courtroom.

Assistant Public Defender April Simmons on Wednesday described Adam Landerman as a scared 19-year-old kid influenced by an older ringleader on the night Eric Glover and Terrance Rankins, both 22, were strangled.

But Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow pointed out Landerman strangled Glover while another man was killing Rankins.

Landerman, whose mother is a Joliet police officer, is the last to face trial and the only one to take his case before a jury.

Bethany McKee and Joshua Miner were found guilty by Judge Gerald Kinney in trials last year and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Alisa Massaro pleaded guilty to robbery and concealing a homicide charges and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
