Seminary Street Casey’s Now in Operation

Caseys General Store LogoMembers of the Galesburg Chamber of Commerce joined with Casey’s General Store officials earlier today for a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new Seminary Street Casey’s opened its doors and pumps to customers yesterday, following more than a year of wait time, due to various delays.

According to Site Manager Kim Grady, the response has been fabulous so far. Grady tells WGIL, that people have been flocking in.

“We had a huge turnout yesterday, everybody’s happy for us to be here, so it’s pretty cool,” says Grady. “They love how big it is, how spacious, the convenience of the location. They said, you know, a lot of people travel through here and there’s never been anything on this corner for a long time, so they’re really happy about that.”

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Steven Brody added that the location really is key. He says that to finally have a gas station on that part of town is a huge benefit to both residents and people who come off of the highway. Brody also says that the location benefits those who work at either of the Galesburg hospitals, who may work late.

The new Casey’s is open 24 hours a day, complete with larger selection of coolers and space than previous stores. The location currently employs 29 staff, five of which are full time.

Grand Opening festivities are scheduled to take place June 26th and 27th.
