green, margaret760Margaret A. “Maggie” Green, 80, of Knoxville, formerly of Delong and Oquawka, died at 12:35 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg.

Maggie was born August 23, 1934 in Table Grove, the daughter of Jesse Ray and Gertie Marie (Hitz) Colwell.  She married William F. Green on January 20, 1951 in Ipava.  He preceded her in death on February 1, 1996.  Maggie is survived by one son, William (Millie) of Wataga; two daughters, Susan (special friend, Orville Worley) Good of Currieville, MO and Diane Cadwell of Galesburg; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by one brother, Carl (Ollie) Colwell of Abingdon.  Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, James Green; two brothers, Leroy and Fred Colwell; and one sister, Mary Bowton.

Maggie worked for Knox College for several years.  She then worked for Knox County Housing Authority, retiring on June 11, 1998.  Maggie enjoyed bingo and reading books.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Rev. Norman Mendell will officiate.  A fellowship will follow the graveside services at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory.  Memorials may be directed to the Knox County Nursing Home or a charity of the donor’s choice.  Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
