Sandburg Trustees Receive Honors For Years of Service

Carl Sandburg CollegeTwo Carl Sandburg College Trustees recently received honors for their work with the institution.

Thomas Colclasure and Bruce Lauerman were both honored by a state-wide organization late last month. Both were awarded distinctions by The Illinois Community College Trustees Association, or ICCTA.

Colclasure was the recipient of an award for 30-years of service, while Lauerman was honored for 25-years. Both awards were given to honor not only their longevity but also their continued dedication to public service.

Colclasure, who was among the state’s 44 community college trustees first elected in 1985, is one of only two elected that year who continue to serve. He’s also one of just seven trustees in the state with at least 30 years of service.

Of the 46 trustees who were newly elected in Illinois in 1990, Lauerman is one of only two who remains an active servant. ICCTA has worked with trustees around the state since the early 1970’s.
