Famous Chicago Hot Dogs Making Comeback at Wrigley

CHICAGO (AP) — One of Chicago’s favorite hot dog stands may be closed, but its hot dogs are making a comeback at Wrigley Field.

In a news release, the Cubs announced that a new outdoor concession area behind the centerfield scoreboard has started serving hot dogs made famous by Hot Doug’s.

That’s good news for hot dog aficionados who were saddened last fall when Hot Doug’s founder Doug Sohn closed his “sausage superstore” on the city’s North Side. It was known for hot dogs stuffed with everything from yak to rattlesnake.

The initial offerings aren’t quite so unusual. But they are based on some of Sohn’s most popular sausages. And they’re named after former Cubs players Rick Reushel, Dave Kingman and Carmen Fanzone.
