Curtis, Linda R.

Curtis, LindaLinda R. Curtis, 66, of Galesburg, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday, July 6, 2015 in Cartersville, Georgia.

She was born in April 25, 1949, in Blue Ridge, Georgia. She moved to Brunswick, Georgia at a young age, and later married Danny E. Curtis on May 18, 1968 there. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2013.

She is survived by a son, Neil Curtis of Oquawka, Illinois; a daughter, Kim (and Jim) Weber of Keller, Texas; five grandchildren, Sterling and Shelby Curtis and Taylor, Allie, and Lauren Weber; two brothers, Danny Frank Lowery of Statesboro, Georgia and Harold Botts, of Jacksboro, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

In the early years of their marriage, Linda was a faithful military wife as Danny served in the U.S. Navy. During the years following his return home, she worked as the manager of Evergreen Retirement Home. After it closed, she dedicated herself as a wife, mother, and active member in church.   Linda loved to sing in the choir and spend time with her family. Linda loved the Lord and in doing so, loved people. Her life was spent telling her family and friends how much she loved Jesus and praying for them to know that same love.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Graveside service for the family will be Saturday at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev.
