State Police Sticker Indicates Drugs Involved in Henderson Street Fire

Henderson Fire HouseAn investigation is on-going regarding a Henderson Street fire that took place early yesterday morning.

As of last night, a sticker tagged by Illinois State Police was seen on the 567 South Henderson Street residence, indicating that a laboratory used for the manufacture of illegal drugs and/or hazardous chemicals was seized from the home.
Galesburg Police have declined to give an official cause of the fire at this point, however new information has been released.

According to reports filed by the department, the caller who initially informed police of the fire believed the blaze had been caused by meth manufacture.

Additional witnesses cited that four to five occupants and a dog were seen running eastbound from the burning house.

It was later confirmed that a woman owner, three children and two dogs had fled to a nearby Brooks Street home, where she told authorities she had been awoken by a visitor who indicated the home was on fire.

No injuries were reported in Tuesday’s early morning blaze. At this time, no charges have been filed by GPD, and no suspects have been named.
