The National Association of Broadcasters recently announced the finalists for the National Marconi Awards.
WGIL has been announced as a finalist this year—one of five nationwide for the Small Market Broadcaster of the Year award.
The Small Market Station of The Year category is for radio stations outside of the top 150 rated markets, which is made up of communities with a population smaller than 320,000 people.
Marconi Awards were established back in 1989, and are given to stations with outstanding on-air personalities and excellence in radio.
The awards are considered by the broadcasting community to be the top honor in the industry. A total of 20 are expected to be given in different categories overall.
Those nominated will be honored at a NAB ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia on October 1st.
