Crew Beats Short-Handed Fire 3-1

chicago fireCOLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Kei Kamara broke a tie in the 17th minute with his MLS-leading 14th goal of the season and the Columbus Crew beat the Chicago Fire 3-1 on Sunday in game delayed 30 minutes because of heavy rain and lightning.
Federico Higuian scored on a penalty kick for Columbus (8-7-6) in the second minute, and David Accam tied it for Chicago (5-11-3) on a free kick in the ninth.

Chicago’s Jason Johnson was red-carded for a dive early in the second half, leaving the Fire with 10 men, and Ethan Finley capped the scoring for Columbus in the 83rd minute.

The Crew also beat the Fire in Illinois on Wednesday night. Chicago is winless on the road this season.
