Bond Set for Four Arrested in Meth Bust

knox county courthouseFour individuals all arrested yesterday in relation to a meth lab appeared via video conference this afternoon in Knox County Circuit Court.

Galesburg Police responded to the 400 block of S. Chambers Street early Monday morning, after smelling a strong chemical odor in the area. Authorities determined that the odor was coming from the residence. They then arrested 31-year-old Corice Wright, 29-year-old Tashia Farris, and couple 39-year-old Garret and 40-year-old Heidi Stancomb.

Following an investigation of the home, police discovered and seized more than 200 grams of meth. According to facts read aloud by the assistant state’s attorney, The Stancomb couple had allegedly been allowing Wright and Farris to manufacture the substance throughout multiple parts of the house.

Judge Thomas Ewing set bond at $250,000 today for each of the persons involved. Each individual faces a number of meth related charges, all of which face Class X felonies–the maximum penalty of which could result in a 30 year prison sentence.

Each of the Standcomb’s face meth-related child endangerment as well. Two children inside the home were reportedly taken into custody by another group.

Ewing ordered all four to return to court tomorrow at 11 a.m. Each individual remains in the Knox County Jail at this time.
