Minor Injuries Reported in Earlier Henderson Street Crash, Second Crash Injuries Unknown

henderson crashAn accident that backed up traffic for approximately 20-30 minutes on North Henderson Street in Galesburg shortly after 11 a.m. has resulted in only minor injures.

A white Ford Taurus traveling Northbound reportedly collided with a white Chevy Trail Blazer heading West on Losey Street at the intersection of the two roads, causing both vehicles significant damage.

Owner of the Taurus, 17-year-old Destini Munson and her passenger 19-year-old Logan Kuhn were left with only minor scrapes. Munson has stated her car is a total loss.

According to Galesburg Police, an individual was taken from the trail blazer via ambulance, however, they are not being treated for life threatening injuries.

No additional information has been provided at this time. Traffic has resumed regular flow, as accident removal crews have left the scene.

Authorities reportedly responded to a separate crash near the corner of Henderson and Dayton shortly after clearing the first incident as well. The crash involved a cyclist and a vehicle.

The bicycle rider’s injuries are unknown at this point. The individual was transferred to OSF St. Mary Medical Center, where they are continuing to be treated for their injuries.
