Hermon Man Arrested in Galesburg for Sex Crimes

galesburgpolicelogoGalesburg Police arrested a Hermon man this past Saturday for alleged sex crimes with two girls under the age of 13.

30-year-old Adam H. Sampson is accused of committing various sexual acts with the victims.

Sampson faces three separate counts, two of which carry significant sentences. Two counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of Child have been filed by the state. Both are Class X Felonies, and could carry prison sentences of up to 60 years each.

Sampson also faces a single count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse–a class two felony.

The Hermon man is currently being held in the Knox County Jail on $100,000 bond. He was assigned a public defender in his case yesterday.

Sampson will appear in court with counsel tomorrow at 11 a.m.
