Autopsy Concludes Woman Found Dead in Chicago Home Strangled

CHICAGO (AP) — A woman found dead in a Chicago home along with her three children earlier this month was strangled.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office announced Tuesday an autopsy determined that 27-year-old Latoya Jackson was strangled with a cord or something similar. Her death has been classified as a homicide.

The bodies of Jackson and three children, ages 11, 9 and five, were found in a home in Chicago’s Chatham neighborhood on July 18.

Authorities earlier this month said the bodies were decomposing when they were found. Initial autopsy results on the children were inconclusive.

The Chicago Fire Department said there was a fire in the home, but it’s not clear when it was set. It was contained to the building’s interior.
