Knox Donors Give More than $18 Million to College

Knox CollegeKnox College has tallied their fundraising results from the 2014-2015 fiscal year. Donors gave more than $18 Million to the college–the second most in school history, following last year’s total of $19.5 Million.

According to a press release sent by the institution, 7,744 donors contributed to the school.

Money will be used to fund various amenities such as the students and faculty, as well as capital improvements and educational programming.

The largest sum came from estate gifts, which totaled at more than $10 Million. $3.6 Million was given in recurring gifts, and an additional $2 Million was gifted for enhancements to the physical campus.

Many of the college’s facilities are being renovated such as the Turner Track and the Whitcomb Art Building. Perhaps the largest work continues to be done to Alumni Hall, which has reportedly been “shuttered” for nearly 40 years.
Since 2011, an estimated $12.6 Million has been raised to revamp the structure.

The release also indicates that Knox’s endowment fund is the highest it has ever been. As of March 31st, $127 Million sat in that fund.
