Silas Willard Finds New Principal Just Before School Begins

Tiffany Springer - Silas Willard PrincipalSchool is back in session later this month, and just in time for school, Silas Willard Elementary School will be welcoming a new Principal.Tiffany Springer will be hired on as the new principal pending approval by the school board at their meeting next week. The position opened up after Angela Stockman announced she would be leaving District 205 for a job in Peoria.

Springer spent time in Galesburg as a teacher at Lombard Middle School in the past, and says it will be nice to work closer to home again. She is leaving Orion District 223, where she served as principal of Orion Middle School.

Springer tells WGIL that she most looks forward to working with the staff and students at Silas Willard.

“As principal of Silas Willard, I look forward to working with staff and students and joining the community that I grew up in and am a member of as well,” says Springer. “There’s a great group of teachers here, and students. I’m thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to work with them and the parents, to achieve academic success and have an enjoyable experience for everyone.”

Springer says she has been welcomed by teachers, parents and district staff alike.

Springer says she looks forward to the upcoming school year and will be spending the next couple of weeks preparing by checking schedules and becoming more familiar with staff and the school layout.
