Fire’s Matt Watson Suspended Additional Game by MLS

chicago fireNEW YORK (AP) – Chicago midfielder Matt Watson was suspended an additional game by MLS on Wednesday for a serious foul in the Fire’s 2-0 victory over FC Dallas on Sunday night,
Watson received a red card for the play that endangered the safety of an opponent, leading to an automatic one-game suspension. The MLS Disciplinary Committee added a second game and fined him an undisclosed amount.

Also, Sporting Kansas City midfielder Roger Espinoza was suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for endangering the safety of an opponent in Kansas City’s 1-1 tie with Houston on Saturday night. Kansas City and Houston also were found in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy.
