A power washing service van was scorched this morning sitting in the driveway of a Kellogg Street residence, the cause of which remains unknown.
Galesburg Firefighters responded to 438 North Kellogg Street shortly before 9 a.m. to extinguish flames on both the van and a white pickup truck.
According to vehicle owners Amy Haynes and Mike Ferris, the van had cleaning chemicals inside that were used for a new business.
Police Sergeant Paul Vannaken added that loose chemical matter inside of a hot van could have been a cause, however, the exact cause has not been determined at this time.
Vannaken says the van is a complete loss. Authorities are continuing to investigate. No injuries have been reported.
