Knoxville Native Sends Building To A “Simpler Time”

Years of collecting antiques has led a Knoxville native to pay tribute to his town.

Gary Goudie of Knoxville is transforming an old building into a gas station museum, to reflect the past.

There will be vintage gas pumps, parking meters, and drive in speakers to represent the 1920s and 30s time periods.

His work shop is open to the public, but does not have set hours for visitors.

Since high school, Goudie has been interested in the old fashion style and wants to share it with the locals and visitors passing though town.

“One of my favorite items–I’ve got a 1965 Mustang fastback, and they are what I had in high school,” says Goudie. ” Cars are my favorite, but I like all of the old articles. They kind of remind me of a simpler time, and how things have changed from the past.”

Goudie has lived in Knoxville for most of his life, after serving in the army based out of Chicago. He says it’s an honor to contribute in the legacy of his town.
