Galesburg High School Entry Ready for School

GHS constructionJust in time for school to start, the entry at Galesburg High School is ready for use.District 205 Superintendent Ralph Grimm says he met with construction workers in June and strongly encouraged a completion date of August 7th.

Grimm says he is happy that the entry is ready for students to use before school started.

Grimm tells Galesburg’s Morning News on WGIL that the entry was remodeled for better safety and they have the final walk through scheduled.

“The district started some significant upgrades at the high school, revamping the entryway, primarily to ensure safe entryway into the building and so that we could monitor who is coming in and out of the building from that main entrance,” says  Grimm. “I’m happy to say that that project is substantially complete. I think we’ve scheduled the, what they call the ‘punch list walk through’, which should be the final walk through.”

Grimm says he is thankful that Russell Construction was able to complete the work by the deadline.

Grimm says he is thankful for the custodians who were working overtime to make sure the building was clean for students to start their first day of school yesterday.
