TomichWyatt Cole Tomich, 14, of Galesburg, died at 2:26 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg.

Wyatt was born on December 8, 2000, in Peoria the son of Joseph Michael Tomich and Erika Carole Rollings.  Wyatt is survived by his dad, Joe Tomich of Galesburg; his mother, Erika Sung of Creve Coeur; a brother, Joshua Sung of Creve Coeur; a sister, Breaunna Tomich of Galesburg; his paternal grandparents, Cindy (Carl) White and Mike (Sandy) Tomich both of Canton; maternal grandparents, Mike (Becky) Rollings of Groveland; maternal great grandparents, Beulah Trainer of Hopedale, Don (Jo) Rockhill and Peggy Wasson, both of Pekin; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by a maternal grandmother, Carole Wasson Rollings.

Wyatt was to start his freshman year at Knoxville High School.  He loved music, a love he had since he was little.  Wyatt played the clarinet in the school band.  Wyatt was an avid reader, especially Greek mythology and enjoyed going to the movies.  Wyatt was a kind young man who loved his family more than anything and loved to travel with them.  He will be remembered for his great sense of humor that could always put a smile on anyone’s face.  Wyatt was a smart young man, had great compassion for others and was the best big brother.  He had been learning how to cook.  Wyatt had a great love for animals and wanted to become a veterinarian.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Additional visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with a funeral service following at 11:30 a.m.  Pastor Scott Kramer will officiate.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.  Memorials may be made in Wyatt’s memory to the Knox County Humane Society or to the Knoxville Music Boosters.  Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
