Southern Illinois Chiropractor, Father Die in Plane Crash

CARTERVILLE, Ill. (AP) — A public memorial service is planned for a southern Illinois chiropractor who with his father died when their single-engine plane crashed in Shawnee National Forest.

The Southern Illinoisan in Carbondale reports the service for Dr. Erich Snyder and his father, Tommy Snyder, is scheduled for August 29 at the First Apostolic Church in Cambria.

Authorities say the Carterville residents were flying from Marion, Kentucky to Marion, Illinois on August 9 when their four-seat plane went down in Pope County during a storm. Wreckage from the aircraft was found northwest of Eddyville by a U.S. Forest Service worker.
