Club 41 To Reopen Doors in November

Club41After one year closed to the public, Club 41 will reopen its doors keeping the original building’s charm, while renovations are in order to make some elements current.

According to one of five partners in owning Club 41, John Kramer tells WGIL the casual dining atmosphere was greatly missed by the community.

Kramer says Club 41 will remain in the same building on highway 41 in St. Augustine, Illinois, between Galesburg and Macomb.

“There’s a big hole, geography wise, between Galesburg and Macomb. There is a lot of traffic on 41. We just believe there is a hole that needs to be filled.”

Much of the original building’s character will remain since Club 41’s first opening in 1957, however Kramer says they will have to make additions and update parts of the building.

Kramer says they are re-doing the kitchen, expanding the bar, and will add video gaming, such as video poker into the newly built back room.

Two of the five new owners say they are striving to open the Club 41 doors for business sometime in November.
