KCHA Discuss Pre-Construction of Two Housing Projects

12-30-14 Knox County Housing AuthorityAt the Knox County Housing Authority Board meeting this morning, members discussed pre construction updates for two housing establishments.

Updates were given about the Brentwood Manor Exterior Renovations project beginning August 31st, as well as the Public Housing Selective Plumbing project, which will begin construction next month.

KCHA Executive Director Derek Antoine says construction for the Public Housing Selective Plumbing project will begin September 7th and could be completed by the end of the 2015 year.

“Everything seems to be on track, working in terms of some water heater fits. We have some issues with the water heaters in respect to fitting into some of the tight spots in the family unit, so we are working through some of those things there.  Also deciding how many sprinkler heads we are going to ultimately replace. That is were everything is moving along and at an appropriate pace as far as that one goes”.

Antoine says while that project is projected to last throughout the year, renovations for Brentwood Manor are predicted to end on November 30th.

He adds for both projects there will be combined weekly meetings and talk with the architects to check on the progress of the construction projects, making sure they remain on schedule.
