Christine A. “Lady” Priebe

Priebe Christine 2Christine A. “Lady” Priebe, 55, of Gilson, Illinois passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at her home.

Christine was born October 19, 1959 in Rome, Iowa, the second daughter of Joseph Eugene and Ruby Kay Krieger Cottrell.  She graduated from High School in 1977. She married Kenton Priebe on May 30, 1987 in the Maquon Methodist Church, Maquon, Illinois.

She worked in a medical lab for a nursing home and OSF Galesburg Clinic and she owned and operated AAA Professional Staffing of Illinois from 2003 to 2009.  She attended the Maquon United Methodist Church.  She was a member of the Peoria Amethyst Sisters, an EMT for the Maquon Fire Department – First Responders and Gilson Fire Department.  She was a member of ABATE.   She enjoyed riding motorcycles, four wheelers, and a family tradition of steal sticks.  She also liked to write poems and she was a very compassionate person.

Christine is survived by her husband, Kent (Mouse) Priebe of Gilson, Illinois; son, Robert (Lisa) Priebe of Norwalk, Iowa; mother, Ruby Kay Cottrell, Camus, Washington; four grandchildren, George and Dylan Kick and Michael and Desiree Priebe and two great grandchildren, Liam and Faith Kick.  Also surving are her siblings, Vicki (Peter) Palmer of Camas, Washington; Dee (Steven) Tozer of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; and Joseph Eugene Cottrell II of Kennewick, Washington.

She was preceded in death by one son, Dameon Michael Ginn, her father, maternal and paternal grandparents, three aunts, one uncle, one nephew and her father-in-law, Johnny B. Priebe.

Cremation rites will be accorded with the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.  Online condolences can be made at www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com
