The Wild Wild West is coming to Knoxville, with the Pioneer Plaza and Big Catz BBQ opening in the near future.Pioneer Plaza Co-Owner Erin Vaughn says they are hoping for the whole plaza to open all at once by the beginning of October.
Vaughn tells WGIL that her husband and co-owner Keith Vaughn envisioned a western-themed space for families to hang out at in Knoxville.
“We’re just trying to do something different. It was an empty space,” says Vaughn. “My husband kind of had this vision of having a western-type town, somewhere here in Knoxville and the building was just presented to us and we decided to go ahead and run with that. The restaurant area will be the ‘Saloon’, the next part will be the arcade, which we’ll call Iron Bars Arcade, and it will be the ‘Jail’.”
Big Catz BBQ Representative Michelle Moore says they are hoping to open the restaurant sometime in September.
Vaughn says they have included a large community center area for local residents to use for parties or reunions, since they recognized a need for one in Knoxville.
