Hermon Man Awaits Arraignment for Another Month in Alleged Sex Crime Case

knox county courthouseGalesburg Police arrested a Hermon man in July for alleged sex crimes with two minors.

30-year-old Adam H. Sampson is accused of committing various sexual acts with two girls under the age of 13.

Sampson could face up to 60 years a piece on two counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child. The charges are Class X felonies.

He also faces a single count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse which is a class two felony.

Sampson has been held in Knox County Jail on a $100,000 bond since his arrest, and his arraignment has been rescheduled for the second time this month.

The Hermon man has been granted an automatic substitution motion, after security reasons were brought to the courts attention on the morning of his first arraignment.

Judge Paul Mangieri decided at the second arraignment yesterday, that Judge Scott Shipplett will handle future hearings in Sampson’s case.

Sampson remains held in Knox County Jail. His next appearance in court is scheduled for September 9th at 9 a.m.
