Driver Killed in July Accident Suffered From Seizures

willard accidentGalesburg Police, Galesburg Fire Department, and GHAS all responded to a school bus and overturned vehicle collision on East Fremont Street two months ago.

The July accident involving a First Student Bus and a silver Chevrolet Equinox lead to a fatality.

Authorities indicated that 19-year-old Joshua F. Yeast was traveling at high speeds when he struck a curb.

The then airborne car flipped and struck the right rear end of the bus, which was carrying four passengers. No injuries were reported from the bus passengers.

According to police reports, an interview was held with Yeast’s father, who says that the 19-year-old suffered from Grand Mal Seizures and was taking medication.

Yeast was given his license one and a half months prior to the time of the crash.

An investigation is still on-going as to what officially caused the accident.

Knox County Coroner Mark Thomas says, he is waiting on additional information from Galesburg Police to determine the cause of death.
