Parkin, Cox, and Sensabaugh To Retire In December

Galesburg-city-signThree Galesburg city employees have announced their retirement for the end of this year.

Parks and Recreation Director Larry Cox, Recreation Superintendent Roger Sensabaugh, and Director of Community Development Roy Parkin announced they will leave in December.LC

Cox tells WGIL, he is fortunate to have worked on various public improvements around Galesburg and along with Parkin and Sensabaugh, he will miss the city staff.

“I think we have a really great staff here at the city. We work well together and that’s probably the best thing I’ve been involved with was helping to develop our Public Works and Parks and Recreations Departments ”

Cox became the director of the combined branches at the beginning of 2015, when the Parks Department and Recreation Department re-joined after being separated for close to 30 years.

Sensabaugh, Cox, and Parkin each began working with the city of Galesburg in the 1980’s serving multiple positions.

 

 

 

Parkin and Cox will complete their last day with the city on December 18th. RP

Sensabaugh says he will serve his last day on December 31st.
