NCAA Puts David Schnase in Charge of Academics, Membership

NCAAINDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Longtime NCAA employee David Schnase was promoted to vice president of academic and membership affairs Thursday.
He takes over for Kevin Lennon, who became the NCAA’s vice president of Division I governance in April.

Schnase joined the NCAA’s staff in 1995 and has been the managing director of academic and membership affairs since March 2004. He will now oversee a staff helps athletic departments in all three NCAA divisions understand and comply with rules.

The Nebraska native started his career at Marshall, where he served as the director of athletic compliance and director of judicial affairs.

Schnase earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Nebraska and earned master’s and law degrees at Kansas. He begins the new job Sept. 21.
