Taco John’s to Make Return on Henderson

Taco JohnsA Mexican restaurant chain will be returning to Galesburg.Taco John’s will open in the former Spudo’s Donut’s location at 1922 North Henderson by Spring of 2016.

That’s according to franchise owner Bill Corrick, who also franchises Taco John’s Restaurants in Clinton, Fairfield and Burlington, Iowa.

Corrick tells WGIL that the move is part of a company-wide expansion.

“One thing about Taco John’s is, it’s lasted 45 years and it’s kind of a hidden gem,” says Corrick. It hadn’t really grown, it didn’t really want to grow, but now they are in a growth mode and it’s perfect timing for me because I’m in a growth mode with them too. I’ve been with them for 25 years and I’ve seen how good of a company it is.”

Corrick says the location will carry traditional menu items as well as some new additions. He says he decided to open on Henderson because of the high traffic rates.

The store is expected to have around 50 employees when it is complete.

According to the company’s website, Taco John’s franchises more than 415 restaurants in 27 states. The first franchise location opened in 1969 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
