Mr. Bernard R. Kelley age 89 of Galesburg, Ill., died at 11:07 p.m. Thursday September 17, 2015 at Knox County Nursing Home.
He was born August 2, 1926 in Libertyville, Ia. the son of Clifford and Irene Lyon Kelley. He first married Mildred Pope in 1945 in Texas, she preceded him in death in 1998. He later married Katherine Berry in Galesburg, Ill., June 3, 1978.
Bernard is survived by his wife Katherine, one son Duane and Cammy Kelley of Burlington, Ia., three daughters Deborah and Michael Wilson of Jefferson City, Mo., Karen and Charles Bowman of Mt. Pleasant, Ia., and Teresa Carver of Malcom, Ia., four step daughters Cathy Berry of Galesburg, , Carla and Steven Schmalz, of Galesburg, Carol and Brad Dietrich, of Quincy, Ill., Connie Mc Dorman of Galesburg, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
He graduated from Fairfield High School and Parsons College in Fairfield, Ia.. He served in the United States Army. He was a salesman for Keebler Cookie Company and was owner of the Grand Pipe and Tobacco Shop in Galesburg retiring in 1993. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the V.F.W Post 2257.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday September 21, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Seims officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorial may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com..
